Sub-Decree # 18 (RGC) on Creation of Khmer Language National Committee (March 05 ,
2007).
Decided to create a Khmer Language National Committee in charge of approval for use of
Khmer language with composition as follows: 1) H.E. Dr. Sok An, Deputy Prime Minister in
charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers, as Chairman; 2) H.E. Professor Dr. Long Siem,
Vice-President of Cambodian Royal Academy, Permanent Vice-Chairman; 3) H.E. Professor Dr.
Prum Mol, Advisor attached to the Office of the Council of Ministers in charge of linguistic
section, as Vice-Chairman; 4) H.E. Professor Dr. Sum Chhumbun, Secretary General of the
Cambodian Royal Academy, as Secretary General; 5) Mr. Professor Dr. Iv Chan, Vice-President
of National Language Institute, as Deputy Secretary General; 6) H.E. Professor Dr. Soun
Samnang, President of Cambodian Royal Acad emy, as Advisor; 7) H.E. Professor Dr. Chhoy
Yiheang, Vice-President of Cambodian Royal Academy, as Advisor; and 29 other Excellencies,
professors and representatives are members from government ministries-institutions and
associations.
The Khmer Languag e National Committee shall have a duty to determine and approve Khmer
language in writing, reading, defining and creating words, particularly to determine national
policy of language in order to develop Khmer language, to make it progressive in a sustainable
manner, and to keep dignified the identity of Khmer nationals. The procedure and process for
implementing the duties of the Khmer Language National Committee shall be determined by
the internal rules. This Committee shall have a permanent secretariat located at the National
Language Institute of the Cambodian Royal Academy for assistance. The Secretariat shall be a
technical unit to assist work of the Committee in relation to Khmer language, administration
and finance, and other works. Composition, organization and functioning of this Secretariat
shall be determined by decision of the Khmer Language National Committee. The budget for
operation in the Secretariat and meetings shall be the national budget by the project proposed
by the Khmer Language National Committee through the Office of the Council of Ministers.
This Committee may receive sponsorship/assistance from national and international
organizations, and from other sources. This Committee may create technical working groups
for Khmer terminology and other Sub-committees for Khmer language specialization if
necessary. This Committee shall have the right to use the stamp of the Cambodian Royal
Academy.

Ma traduction serait encore plus incompréhensible que le texte original!!! :nono: Non, je peux comprendre que pour moi, je ne sais pas traduire!! Que ce soit entre ces 3 langues khmer-français-anglais :-(
